Follow these steps to make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi:

  1. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on  - Swipe down from the top of the screen and check if the leftmost button, the one labelled "Wi-Fi" is green, if the button is grey, tap on it once, it should turn green and within 10 seconds, a notification should appear at the bottom of the screen saying "Connected to Wi-Fi network...", if this notification does not appear to go the next step.
  2. Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi - swipe down from the top of the screen, press and hold on the button labelled "Wi-Fi" (first on the left), Wi-Fi Settings on your tablet should pop up, on the right hand side, there's a list of Wi-Fi networks, the item at the top of that list should be a lighter blue and should be labelled as "Connected", if this is not the case, tap on a Wi-Fi network that you recognise (if you don't know which one to choose, please contact your placement's IT services), enter all the required security details and tap "Connect".
  3. Make sure you're connected to the Internet - Being connected to Wi-Fi is not necessarily the same as being connected to the internet. You can be connected to Wi-Fi and not be connected to the Internet but you cannot be connected to the internet without being connected to Wi-Fi. To check if you're connected to the internet, simply go into your browser (for example, Chrome) and go to any website (for example, etc.) If you can connect to that website without problem, you're connected to the Internet. If you see a notification asking you to "Sign in to Wi-Fi network" (this will happen if you're using a public Wi-Fi network, like the ones found at Starbucks and Costa), swipe down from the top of the screen and tap on the notification, then follow the instructions on screen. If you can't connect to the internet, go back to step 2 and choose a different Wi-Fi network, or contact your placement's IT services if you're connected to the placement's official Wi-Fi.
